She doesn't say much though.. This is not the Shirou she remembers. He sounds so broken. But what can she even do? ]

When will a better time be? Will you put it off again? Are you afraid of reliving your past, Shirou? [ Her words are sharp, perhaps sharper than they need to be, but she's hurt too. ]

The thought of it is enough to make me want to vomit and hide in the corner. It's so scary that I think I'll lose my mind if I try to recall it.

[Shirou knows he can just walk away from this conversation, but instead he's sitting there crying. He instinctively clutches his arm.]

[ Even with everything she knows about Heaven's Feel Route, Saber still doesn't understand what specifically made Shirou this way, but she does relent slightly at his tears. That's not something she is used to handling. ]

We all must remember our pasts. The times we regret along with the times we were happy. I regretted my entire life, and the things I had done, until I had met you and Rin. You showed me that I could still move on, and live a better life.

[ What else can she say? She hurts seeing Shirou like this herself. ]

I did? [Shirou stares at her blankly for a second. He doesn't remember doing anything like that. His memory isn't even reliable.]

I don't have any memories of doing that, but I guess that's what happened. [It's not a bad thing either. ]

[ It's easy to forget that Shirou's memories are not fully there. ]

I do not know if that is what you experienced or not. [ It's pretty clear her Shirou and this one are different...but the same too. ]

I was worried about you, but I didn't know what to say. That's my fault entirely. [Shirou feels slightly less guilty knowing Saber is happy.]

[ She looks around as if expecting to see Archer. ]

I appreciate your concern, Shirou. But it is you I am worried most about now.

Well, as far as managing goes...[His memory issue isn't something he can fix easily.]

You have difficulty recalling your memories. Your projection skill is weak. You cannot use your Reality Marble. It is natural that I would be worried for you.

[ She thinks it is anyways! ]

It's only natural that I can't remember anything. My minds been screwed up ever since I fought Berserker alone. Wouldn't it be stranger if I had no defects after that? [That isn't something he likes talking about.]

[ She knows that, but she feels she has to.. ]

I lost many things, but I want to live. I want to live even if it's hard. Don't worry about me. It's all right Saber. [He doesn't care about how difficult things are as long as he can spend time with his friends.]

[ Saber opens her mouth to complain, to tell him that she will continue to worry...but for this moment, she feels like letting Shirou have what he wants. There's no need to yell at him, or tell him the obvious problems he should still be trying to fix. So she nods.

And her stomach growls a little. ]

[Shirou just wipes away his tears with his hand and then holds onto Rin's pendant as if it's there to remind him of something important.]

Saber, where are you?

[He doesn't know where Saber is. All he wants to do is give her lunch and then go home.]

I am leaving my job.

[ She has to work because Archer forced her to, through Rin. But she does like the job. And of course, she will not just let Shirou feed her and leave. Not after she's seen him crying. ]

[ Oh, she hadn't remembered that he would not know. ]

I work at Angelique, the "gothic lolita" clothing boutique. [ It hadn't been the job she had chosen, but Rin had persuaded her to accept that... She gives him an address too, to make it easier. ]

[He gives her the lunch he made and then sighs a little.]

You have things you want to ask me, right?

[Now that he's actually talking to her face to face he feels less like running away less. Shirou acknowledges the fact that he needs to get over his own fear. He didn't get this far so he could run away from scary things. ]

[ Saber is dressed in nothing Shirou has probably seen her in, so thats a pretty big deal! A red and black dress full of ruffles and lace, with a little ruffled headband in her hair. She even bows to him a little when she sees him. ]

I wish to ask, what you are planning on doing now. Here in this world.

[ She's trying to...conversate. Normally. Like, what are you up to, who do you like, that sort of thing! But it's hard for her. She's already taking that lunch box and opening it on her lap though, like hell she's waiting. ]

[He will never get used to seeing her wear that dress man. Girls are scary sometimes. Shirou's going to be fine as long as Saber doesn't get too close to him. Some things never change.]

I want to protect Sakura and to do that I need to become a better magus. What I want to do now isn't any different from before.

Saber, can I ask you something? How do you feel about Tohsaka?

You should be careful getting serious with Archer.

[ She sighs, but doesn't want to say much more. She understands Shirou's need to be stronger, to protect Sakura...even if he's only talking about protecting one person.

Then that question about Rin... She's not sure how to reply. ]

I will. [Saber doesn't have to worry so much. He appreciates her concern but he feels as if he doesn't deserve it.]

Tohsaka doesn't know any magecraft. She's insecure and assumes that she can't manage you and Archer. This Tohsaka isn't the same as the one we knew. I need to know how you feel about her.

[ This is what she does Shirou, get used to it. ]

I had seen that she was not...herself after Archer was injured. [ She doesn't want to get into who may be at fault or anything, but the biggest thing on her mind is how Rin felt about it. ]

I still do not know how you expect me to answer. She has no magecraft but she is gifted in other ways. And I enjoy spending time with her.

[ What else do you want?! ]

[He shows her a smile as if he's pleased to hear her answer. There's nothing else left for him to say. Saber and Archer will continue to support Rin even if he feels useless.]

By the way, Saber. You haven't said anything about the food I made you. Is it any good?

[Don't tell him his cooking is bad...]

It would be difficult to be a Servant for a Master I did not respect, if that is what you mean.
